If you miss a class due to sickness or an emergency, an option to makeup the class by attending a class from another series may be possible, however this will not be available immediately following the class that you missed.  If you know in advance that you are going to miss a particular week of class, you can arrange to have another friend or family member bring your dog.

All Classes are held at:

Waggers Dog Daycare Inc., 42-33 Bell Boulevard, Bayside, NY 11361
                          718-229-9247

The following equipment is required for class:

  • Collar (including Head Collars) or Harness  - no prong or choke collars. *You need to be able to physically control your dog in class, if you struggle to do so the best collar choice is a Gentle Leader headcollar which is extremely effective, second best choice a no-pull harness
  •  4 or 6-foot lead/leash – (Retractable leashes are not allowed)
  • Your dog’s favorite toy
  • A mat or towel
  • A stuffed kong or marrow bone - no rawhide
  • *Food Treats: 2 different varieties
  • Bait Bag or Fanny Pack to hold and keep treats.  Bait bags can be purchased at class.
  • **As food treats will be used as one reinforcer/reward in class do not feed your dog prior to class. We will be training your dog in specific and immediate response commands where your dog's food or run of the mill treats are will not be most effective or expedient.  You should bring 2 different levels of quality treats to see what will be most effective for your dog.  All treats should be small and easily consumed, please cut treats into small cubes and have an ample amount fully prepared for class.

    Examples:
Level 1.  Freeze-dried liver dog treats or other high quality treat
Level 2:  Hot dogs, cheese, ham, turkey, boiled chicken, and steak

Experiment, find out what your dog likes most and bring it to class.

    See you in class!
